What’s cooking?

 
  • A special pasta and spritz evening with guest chef Georgia who trained in Rome.

    A fun, interactive class making homemade tagliatelle, linguine or pappardelle from scratch. Enjoy an informative demo and then roll up your sleeves and get pasta making! We will then demo making two Roman sauces - cacio e pepe and amatriciana.

    Pasta making can be thirsty work, so we’ll make sure you have an Aperol Spritz and/or a Hugo Spritz to hand.

    We’ll then sit down together to enjoy the pasta we’ve made, accompanied by homemade focaccia and salad and some stories from Georgia about her time as a chef in Rome!

    We’ll finish off making and enjoying a refreshing Sgroppino (lemon sorbet cocktail) with some cantuccini biscuits.

  • Cooking for your family:

    We’ve all been there. Staring at the contents of the fridge wondering what on earth we’re going to feed everyone for supper!

    Come along for a small, hands-on class, making:

    - Miso roasted salmon with sesame noodles and stir fried vegetables

    - Prawn tacos with guacamole and fresh tomato salsa

    - Chicken or vegetable curry with pilau rice

    And pick up lots of tips from Anna on planning and using the freezer and storecupboard.

  • Easy entertaining:

    Would you love to invite people round but are worried that you don’t know what to make, that you’ll get frazzled or that your food won’t be good enough?

    Come along and cook with Anna in a hands-on, small class making some simple but delicious dishes that can be mostly prepared in advance:

    - Chermoula chicken or halloumi kebabs

    - Herby couscous

    - Green beans with toasted almonds

    - Cumin seed flatbreads

    - Lemon cream pots with raspberries

    And pick up lots of tips on how to entertain AND enjoy yourself!

  • Swedish Christmas baking:

    Treat yourself to a cosy, Christmassy afternoon in the Popcorn Pantry kitchen (shall we put on some Nat King Cole?!) in this small, hands-on class where we’ll learn how to make Swedish cardamom (or cinnamon) buns.

    We’ll talk about baking techniques and about how yeast can be our friend if we treat it right! And we’ll also be making some pepparkakor (shaped gingerbread).

    And to keep us warm, we’ll learn how to make traditional Swedish glögg (mulled wine) and enjoy a glass of that and/or tea and coffee whilst we bake.
